We'll be hosting our next ocean tech networking event on Thursday, March 21st, from 5:00-8:00 p.m at our office on the San Francisco Bay. Mike Haley, the special projects director for Triton Submarines, will be joining us to talk about the ambitious Five Deeps Expedition now underway to send humans to the deepest points in the world's oceans. Mike will discuss the challenges of building a sub capable of reaching such depths (and returning safely, the most important part...), and what's happened on the expedition so far. As a bonus, he'll tell us about his recent dives off Japan in the Shinkai 6500 submersible. We'll be serving a fine spread of drinks and food, and we'd love to have you join us. Reception begins at 5:00, Mike's talk will start at 6:00.
As always, our goal is to provide a space for the Bay Area ocean conservation and technology community to congregate, share ideas, and collaborate. So, feel free to pass on this invitation. We only ask that those who are attending register at our Eventbrite page so we can plan accordingly. The past several events have sold out, so if you register and find you won't be able to make it, please cancel your ticket or just drop us a note so we can make the space available to someone else.
